Third
Sunday of Easter

Jesus
said to his disciples: “Come
and have breakfast.” What
a beautiful invitation that is. And the wonderful
truth about it is that this is the invitation
Jesus extends to each one of us also. Because
of his resurrection from the dead, Jesus is available
to us in all the ordinary things of our daily
lives. He wants us to know that he is with us
at breakfast because he lives in us in our homes
and families. He is with us in our joys and sorrows,
our tears and laughter. He is with us in our love
relationships and in our enmities, if we would
only open our hearts to recognise him and let
him shape our lives. One of the big mistakes we
often make is to regard our religion as something
we do for God. Christianity is about what God
is doing for us in and through Christ who is our
way, our truth and our life. This is what has
to give shape to our lives, even at breakfast!
Fr. Johnny Doherty, C.Ss.R.

Confirmation Retreats in Drumragh
Parish
The Prayer Guidance Team of Drumragh Parish will
begin retreats on Tuesday 27th April in the Pastoral
Centre. It is hoped that all of the 300 children
confirmed in the joint parishes of Drumragh and
Cappagh will be able to avail of an exciting and
activity-filled morning with the team.
The aims of the team are as follows:
To encourage children to be aware of God’s
love for them as his children.
To lead them towards a personal relationship
with God.
To become aware of the importance of their part
in the salvation story.
To show the children different ways of communicating
with God.
To encourage them to enjoy scripture stories
and delve into their meaning and relevance.
To emphasise the beauty and importance of the
sacrament of Confirmation and their call to discipleship.
To stimulate the children to associate their
image of God and the practice of the faith with
enjoyment, fun, laughter, silence, music, love
and life.
